UPDATE 1/1/24:
so i'll leave what i wrote back in september/october 2023 down below for context. all that's new is that i've decided to try a new approach and work on this album for as long as it takes to realize a proper vision for it. i kinda always do that, but it also feels different now. i've set somewhat tight and harsh boundaries for the productions in the past. i get bored and tired of them and just want to finish them and move on. they wear me out. and the time i have for productions, quite honestly, i just isn't much these days. but this is, after all, my "bliss" to evoke joseph campbell. i took off probably 6-7 weeks prior to yesterday starting sometime in november 23 even though in late sept, early oct i thought i might finish by thanksgiving (see entry below). i just had too much other stuff on my plate (before i even got to turkey). but i am getting to a point in my days now where i think that if i put out something i'm proud of, i'd have some eager listeners, so i wanna do right by all of us. even though it's 100% pointless by some measures, it is also important at the same time. that's partially the point. if it's done by the end of 2024, that'll be a big W. i'ma try to hammer this beast. i love the concept. i love the jams. definitely still thinking of it as "9th chakra" (mail me if you know what the f that even is.. i don't yet). i'm feeling good about right Now. hopeful. these records often exhaust and defeat me lol, but i mean, it's relative. anyway, help yourself to the demos for free if you want, but you'll be owing me $6.90 when it's done. i honestly really aim for it to be so acceptable to me that i do a vinyl, but time will tell how i make out. love with all of ya. i'm hoping to have this record done by around thanksgiving 2023. it will likely either be called "meta" or "smashed hot dog." im not sure yet which. i'm really excited about this one (as usual). hopefully i can wrangle it all into something cohesive. if you're reading these words, it isn't in it's finished state. i like to put these here for the curious. some of these are likely subject to radical change and may just disappear entirely.
