about

i hadn't had an acoustic guitar in several years until a couple of days ago when i found this sorta intermediate-size first act at the thrift store for $8, which i purchased for the smaller hands in the house. i piddled around on it for about a half hour over the course of the next 2 days, then on the third day (9/14) i had some free time and got the recording gadget out; i "wrote" (well, i did write a couple of lyrics, but mostly improvised them, as with the music), and recorded this ep, in the sequence it appears here, in a chunk of about an hour. i tried to stay open and let some sounds come through me, and i had so much fun. i'm pretty pleased with the result(s), and i hope you'll be also. it's raw and compelling, i think. and, again it was tons of fun & good for my health. *it's very much inspired by the music of avey tare, especially the album "campfire songs," and the newer track "man of oil" (thanks, avey!), and some "crust punk"/squatter songs a friend recently shared with me (i'm pretty unfamiliar with the "genre" but dug the aesthetic). anyway, good. the title is a reference to an old joke between two college friends; admittedly, it annoyed me at the time, but it definitely stuck. be well, friends. w/t
